S-Works Venge Di2 – Coleção Sagan LTD
Peter Sagan has been chasing rainbows for years — sometimes successfully, and sometimes out of reach. But in the process, he became that cyclist that everyone looks at. Sometimes he creates chaos in front of the race, but most of the time, he mixes up like a panther waiting for the right moment to attack.
Our search for the perfect shape of the tubes did not start at Win Tunnel, but with a new piece of technology, the FreeFoil Shape Library. Our engineers wrote an optimization algorithm and used a supercomputer to help create new aero shapes with different weights, surface areas and structural targets. Armed with this shape library, we were able to link them to different parts of the bike and test a variety of configurations to determine which configuration is the fastest in Win Tunnel.
Although Rider-First Engineered ™ tubes contribute significantly to weight reduction, they also generate a high degree of stiffness-to-weight ratio and offer 40% greater compliance than ViAS - no matter what the frame. And don't forget the tire space up to 32mm for additional complacency.
Compared to the fastest aero road bike to date (the Venge ViAS), and many others in the range that we will not name here, the new Venge is eight seconds faster by 40 km at zero degrees of yaw.
Not only did we make Venge more aero than ViAS, but we also removed 460 grams from the module's weight. This means that we saved 240g on the frame, 25g on the fork, 107g on the cockpit, 25g on the seat post and 63g on small parts — making it the fastest option when you need to go up, down and everything around.
The new cockpit, developed in partnership with our World Tour teams, features an advance with even greater rigidity than anything we've ever tested, a new handlebar that is even faster, lighter, more rigid, and that features a pattern textured at the top for extra grip and control.
