S-Works Tarmac Disc - Dura Ace Di2

When we developed the Tarmac Disc, we didn't just want it to be fast. We wanted it to be quick anywhere. On long climbs, in flat windy areas, in stages of a Grand Tour, in the local grandfondos - we built a bicycle that was as complete as possible. How did we do it? We started with our Rider-First Engineered ™ frame perfectly optimized for any size, added serious aerodynamic solutions that make it 30 seconds faster over the Tarmac SL5 over 40 kilometers and made it 20% lighter. Nothing is so light, fast and with such good maneuverability.

In the construction of Tarmac we used advanced aerospace optimization software for composites, in order to revolutionize the construction and fiber orientation of the new FACT 12r carbon. It is the longest innovation schedule we have made, and material optimization has allowed us to save 200 grams. Yes, that's it, we reduced the frame weight by 20 percent. It is the perfect recipe for breaking personal records on climbs.
Aerodynamics is the most important thing we can do to make you faster, but with Tarmac we've added aero features without any penalty on weight. Through development, three areas were discovered where we could add aero for free - a new fork shape, lowered struts with aero tubes, and a D-shaped seat post and tube. The result? A Tarmac that is approximately 45 seconds faster in 40 kilometers.
The updated geometry is based on the numerous Retül information points and the contributions of professional cyclists. This led us to develop Performance Road Geometry, which is the perfect combination of a responsive front and a short wheelbase and which allows for instant response and optimal power transfer.
For greater compliance, the seat post has a flexible 120 mm system at the top where it has no grip. We also lowered the uneven upper struts, changed the shape of the seat post and increased the tire space by 30 millimeters.
500 pieces create seven different sizes, with the same tuning behavior - that's Rider-First Engineered ™. We examined each layer of carbon in each frame size, to make sure that all performance objectives would be achieved. To make sure that you receive the best behavior, each frame receives a unique carbon layout, with different plate arrangements and orientations, amount of carbon in specific areas, and sometimes even exclusive thicknesses and types of carbon.
